My View

The politicians and  the citizens of India  has  deeply  criticized the  Australian community   for beating and dragging  the Indians and  the Indian students living and  studying    there in Australia, and termed them as RACIST. That, to an extent understandable and  debatable  as its between two countries, east  and  west. But how  does it feels  when one  Indian passes racial comments on another Indian as  they (me) look similar  to a community or tribe  that exists in other part of a globe with a different country  and  culture. I'm talking about Mongolian features. We people   from North-Eastern  part of  the country is considered  foreigners'  and  are  called and  abused  with extreme sarcasm and  at  times profanity follows as well. We are  called CHINKIS, CHINKS, CHINKI-MINKI, CHOWMEIN and   to our utmost surprise we are  also  called  Chinese and  are taken  for granted as  well.  I'm a commoner, people  like  the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Mr. Pu Lalthanhawla, has very rightly said that he too is a victim of racism  and  that he  is asked if he is Indian in his own country.
Prime Minister, Dr. Mr. Manmohan Singh had called the attacks on Indian students “appalling”, but what he has to say  to  the  Indian who discriminates  North-Eastern racially.... "unfortunate"?. No, this  will not work any more, we are Indians as  well,  we pay Tax out of our income  to the Government Of India  as any other citizens' of  India does & and cast our vote as well,  as any other citizens' of  India does.......than  why not......... we want  the same respect  that any other citizens of India gets, who doesn't look like Mongolian...............
I will  keep on writing my experiences  from time  to  time as   the  incidents  endless and  I have  been residing in Northern part  of   the country  for  the  last six years.....  you can imagine in  the past six years, how much racial remarks I have  faced..... right  from road  to office, hawkers to colleagues.

  2. i completely agree with you sis. kudoos to you for coming up with a blog like this.. it is indeed unfortunate that some ignorant and narrow minded people who never learned how to broaden their horizons are scrupulously killing us with their insensitive and cruel mindset.they have never learned to accept their own individuality, they hide behind the facade of a hard exterior, these are people who don't shrug from abusing their own womenfolk or children with words that shouldn't be used in a civilized culture, these are the people who live under the constant pressure of trying to be someone they are not. they ape our fashion sense our way of talking. believe it or not, they will never agree, but they idolize our sense of freedom. the kind of respect and love we have for another human being and most importantly ourselves. i have a lot to write about the things that i have faced throughout my college life and working as well. i have seen the worst side of it but there are some good people as well..
